All Palumbo Orthopaedics products are clinically designed by orthopedic surgeons and engineered for the rehabilitative and therapeutic orthopedic needs of the patient. The primary orthopedic and medical consultant is P.M. Palumbo, Jr., M.D., a prominent Washington, D.C. area surgeon and the creator of the Palumbo Patella Stabilizing Brace.

While some Palumbo products use elastic and other materials, most of the products utilize neoprene rubber with a nylon laminate, the same material used to make wet suits. Neoprene stretches four ways providing even compression and does not stretch out of shape. Neoprene also insulates natural body heat, aiding circulation, reducing edema and allowing healing soft tissues to become more pliable and less susceptible to injury. Our commitment to quality in our own manufacturing facility insures the use of the finest materials and workmanship in the construction of all Palumbo Orthopaedics products. The same stitching techniques used in the seams of wetsuits are used to provide smooth surfaces next to skin interface to reduce the risk of irritation.
